NET Health is a participating provider in the CDC’s National Diabetes Prevention Program with two licensed coaches on staff who help our participants make realistic and lifelong lifestyle changes. These changes include learning how to make healthy and affordable meals, tips for shopping for healthy food on a budget, participating in low-impact physical activities, such as chair exercises, walking, and Tai Chi. We also cover topics such as, how to manage stress, stay motivated, getting back on track, and problem solving when weight loss stalls.
Previous participants average a weight loss of 5% to 7% of starting weight. In addition, they achieve better blood pressure readings, and lowered fasting glucose levels during and after the Healthy Living Workshop.
In the Healthy Living Workshop, participants and coaches meet once a week for four months, then biweekly until month six, when the meetings become once a month.
